“The fall of the Wall marked an opening of possibilities. Where the traces of Berlin’s wound had left empty spaces, there was potential for a coherent urban transformation of the city. Was it a myth? Today, after the uniform implementation of a reconstruction program—between densification, privatization, and gentrification—Berlin is undergoing a new mutilation of its urban structures and activities. This work is a modest act of resistance. Tracing the line of the Wall, and transforming it through this gesture, challenges our conditioned way of seeing the world and invites us to reconsider emptiness as a form of richness.”
